• PreK8 Academic Program: Grounded in Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching, focused on core academic skills with explicit, systematic teaching to mastery, fluency, and generalization.

• Clinical ABA Program (Ages 313): Cognition-linguistically based ABA program emphasizing cognitive skills, social behavior learning, language development, reasoning, executive functioning, and social competence within a structured instructional environment.

Position Overview

Role:Behavior Technician (BT)
Reports to:BCBA Supervisors / Program Lead
Purpose:Assist in delivering ABA-based and direct-instruction strategies under supervision, contribute to data collection and progress monitoring, and support students aged 313 in achieving targeted learning and social outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of individualized ABA and direct-instruction plans under the supervision of a BCBA.

• Collect reliable data on target behaviors and skills; maintain accurate session notes and data sheets.

• Assist with structured, data-driven instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, and functional skills.

• Help integrate Occupational Therapy-inspired strategies to support sensory-motor development as appropriate (within BT scope and supervision).

• Monitor student safety and support positive, respectful behavior management under supervision.

• Collaborate with BCBA, teachers, therapists, and families to support consistent programming.

• Maintain a supportive, encouraging learning environment; promote student independence and generalization of skills.

• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing supervision.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED; college coursework or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles, data collection, and behavior support strategies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and a child-centered approach.
  • Ability to pass background checks and TB screening.

• Preferred:
  • Experience with Direct Instruction and/or Precision Teaching.
  • Experience supporting neurodiverse learners aged 313.
  • Familiarity with integrated therapy approaches (e.g., OT-informed strategies) and collaborative care models.

Schedule & Work Environment

• On-site positions across ExcelPrep campuses in Bloomington, IL.
