Operating Room - Surgical Technologist

Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience worked in the last 12 months.

• High School completion required.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• No previous experience allowed for Staff at Facility: CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Christus Health.

• No previous experience allowed for Part-Time at Facility: CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Christus Health.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Completion of a Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 or more years of experience preferred. Ability to proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas, including but not limited to transplants, open heart, urology, neurology, titanium rib, and robotics, is highly preferred.

Unit Details: Performs pre-op patient preparation and skin prep, transports and positions patients, handles biological specimens, and prepares the OR by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the case. Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments and sutures to the physician, and assists with direct patient care in the OR before and during surgical procedures. Uses physician preference cards as a starting point when pulling cases and setting up the OR.
