Job Description

Carle Health is seeking experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week assignment in Urbana, IL. The RN will provide comprehensive care to an assigned group of patients, including assessment, medication administration, care planning, patient education, documentation, and coordination with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications following the five rights
• Perform nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes
• Complete admissions and discharges
• Monitor vital signs and changes in patient condition
• Provide patient education
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation
• Ensure fall, pressure injury, isolation, and other safety precautions
• Delegate appropriate tasks to healthcare technicians
• Participate in bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Use critical thinking and nursing judgment to address changes in patient status
• Support efficient patient testing, admissions, and discharges

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Med/Surg nursing experience
• ASN required
• BSN preferred
• Active Illinois RN License in good standing
• BLS – American Heart Association
• Strong patient assessment and care-planning skills
• Nursing documentation experience
