Licensed Optician - Palm Beach Gardens, FL - Sunglass Hut

A licensed Optician at Sunglass Hut will serve as an ambassador of the Sunglass Hut brand by delivering great service through the Sunglass Hut Experience. You will be an on-the-floor leader, filling ophthalmic sunglass prescriptions and fitting/adapting lenses and frames. In addition, you will be performing all functions related to the Sunglass Hut Experience and Store Operations to support and assist management in achieving sales goals, including learning and maintaining knowledge of the policies and procedures for opening, closing, and operating the store.

Major duties and responsibilities include welcoming all customers, setting expectations with customers, custom fitting glasses, precisely placing prescriptions in lenses, acting as a leader in optical acumen, taking and recording measurements, accurately adjusting/fitting eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs, assisting the team with complex product needs and prescriptions, using technology accurately despite time pressure and customer volume, being solution driven, multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time with competing priorities, striving to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies, taking pride in store appearance, helping to keep the store clean, attractive and organized, being resourceful, self-motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement and results, and adhering to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions and inventory management.

Basic qualifications include a high school graduate or equivalent, state licensure in opticianry, optical dispensing experience, strong customer service skills, knowledge of current store merchandise, strong basic math skills, awareness of current fashion trends, selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet, and familiarity with POS, computers and calculators. Preferred qualifications include previous customer service and retail experience.
