Psychiatrist Opportunity At Novant Health

Novant Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate psychiatrist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry with a focus on providing high-quality psychiatric services in an acute behavioral health setting. This position will float between our 62-bed adult inpatient unit and the emergency department.

Opportunity Highlights

Inpatient Unit Responsibilities:

• The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be caring for assigned patients on our 62-bed adult unit
• Opportunity for either 7 on/7 off schedule or five days a week
• Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents
• Psychiatrists will have access to a full spectrum of care options, including ECT, for individuals with treatment-resistant mood and psychotic disorders

Emergency Department Responsibilities:

• The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be caring for approximately 8-12 patients a day
• Opportunity for either a 7 on/7 off schedule or five days a week
• Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents
• Psychiatrists will have access to a full spectrum of care options, including ECT, for individuals with treatment-resistant mood and psychotic disorders
• Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents

Candidate Qualifications:

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Patient population: 18+ for acute care, potential to consult on those below 18 when needed
• Complete daily rounding and timely documentation on assigned patients
• Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary treatment team that includes providers, nursing, therapy and support staff
• Provide supervision and mentorship of psychiatric residents and medical students
• APP Supervision

• Two-year salary guarantee
• Relocation allowance
