Payroll Specialist

The Tom Wood Group, in Indianapolis, Indiana is currently searching for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations. They will excel at maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees.

Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a background screening including a criminal background check, a review of motor vehicle record, verification of social security number, and passing a drug test at a certified testing facility. Responsibilities:
- Process biweekly payroll & supplemental payrolls for more than 1,000 employees
- Process all payroll reporting after each transmittal
- Send out biweekly and supplemental payroll reports for various store locations
- Follow up with management teams on time & attendance functions as well as time off approvals on a weekly basis
- Administer garnishments and child support administration
- ADP reporting functions for Executive management, GM, Office Managers, and others
- Verification on new hire information in ADP system
- New hire reporting to applicable states
- Handle termination paperwork and maintain terminated employee files
- Other payroll duties as assigned
- Previous payroll experience - preferred experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Associates/undergraduate degree in HR, Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience in payroll area.
- Ability to partner across organizations including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, Senior Managers, and Employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- A high level of confidentiality/discretion required.
- MUST have a valid driver's license with a clean record.
