Intimates & Shapewear Designer

Hollan Group LLC is recruiting on behalf of Doncella Ropa for an Intimates and Shapewear Designer. This position is in-person and will work from the company’s location in the Los Angeles Fashion District. The salary range for the position is $70,000-$100,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We are looking for a designer who can produce intimates, shapewear, and potentially sportswear for wholesale geared for Latin American and American-based budget chain stores. Experience in a fast-paced environment is a must, as the operation runs on volume and speed to produce over 100 styles in production at 3 to 6 colors SKUs, with at least 400 developments a year. A meaningful share of the business is reusing highly sought-after products with updated fabrications. What you'll Do Build the seasonal collection across intimates, shapewear, and limited sportswear, from concept through production Drive trend, color, material, and print direction, working alongside our account executives who bring market feedback from the floor Create sketches, CADs, mood boards, and line presentations at volume Lead color and fabrication development, including lab dips, strike-offs, and trim selection Present product in merchandising reviews and revise based on feedback Write clear design intent for our China-based FIT technician, including how the garment is meant to sit on the body. Tight or relaxed, where the compression lives, where it should give. The FIT tech knows manufacturing. Your job is to make sure they know your creative direction for so they know what to look for. Package and hand off complete product information to our China office, who manages all factory execution Guide and review the work of a junior designer Keep 400 developments organized and moving on calendar What we're looking for 5+ years of apparel design experience, with real time in intimates, shapewear, swim, or activewear Strong command of construction in this category. Molded and cut-and-sew cups. Grading through everyday items and extended plus sized items. Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Mastery of AI tools to generate first-pass CADs and refine from there Design of comfort or trendy designs with costing in mind High detail orientation and organization to manage and execute a 400-development calendar with precision Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or equivalent experience A valid US passport and ability to travel internationally Experience with American based budget chain stores programs Extended and plus size design experience Logistics This role is onsite in the LA Fashion District. In the first few months, client meetings are to be held in person with the account executive, and there will be one trip to China to see the factories and meet the production team in person.
