About the role We are seeking a Product Finance, Inference Capacity Lead to join our Finance team at Anthropic. In this role you will partner with product teams, engineering leaders, and go‑to‑market teams to provide financial expertise and guidance that supports strategic decision‑making. You will analyze financial data, build detailed financial models, and deliver insights to drive informed business decisions across our inference infrastructure—the largest line item on our P&L. Key responsibilities Provide expert guidance and influence to product, engineering, and go‑to‑market stakeholders on financial strategies, investments, and resource allocation decisions, leveraging an in-depth understanding of the company’s financials. Partner cross‑functionally with senior engineering leaders to drive detailed financial modeling and analysis, building sophisticated models to optimize inference infrastructure costs and performance. Lead the creation and scaling of novel unit economic metrics for the business, including LTV, contribution margin, and other key performance indicators. Drive optimization initiatives and provide clarity into inference infrastructure costs, working to maximize efficiency of one of our largest P&L line items. Recommend business decisions across pricing, packaging, expansion, and new unit economic frameworks. Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial reports, analyses, and forecasts to stakeholders and executives. Collaborate with Finance & Strategy and accounting counterparts to align product and inference strategies with broader financial considerations. Establish and implement reporting dashboards and scorecards to track key operational and financial metrics. Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, synthesizing data into compelling insights and maintaining complex operating models. Apply extraordinary problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities to navigate complex financial challenges. Communicate complex financial information to technical and non‑finance audiences effectively. Adapt well to change in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrate a bias toward action, strong work ethic, and the ability to drive operational outcomes under tight timelines. Build strong relationships, exercise sound business judgment, and manage processes and communications efficiently. Show enthusiasm for optimizing major cost centers and P&L line items. Preferred qualifications 8+ years of experience across strategic finance, product finance, compute finance, investment banking, private equity, and growth equity. 5+ years in strategic finance paired with several years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or growth equity. Direct experience and strong interest in AI infrastructure. Background in AI, ML, or related technologies. Experience creating and scaling novel unit economic metrics and frameworks. Experience with consumption‑based and/or complex business models. Compensation

$240,000 - $325,000 USD

Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience. Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position. Location‑based hybrid policy: Staff are expected to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more time in office.
