Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Starshield)

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers focused on immediate response to active threats.
• Implement Starshield’s cyber defense strategy and develop countermeasures based on the cyber threat landscape.
• Conduct red-team exercises, vulnerability discovery efforts, internal bug hunts, and vulnerability triage.
• Improve incident discovery and response in collaboration with internal security-event detection teams.
• Collaborate with teams building security features and internal incident discovery tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer security, or a similar field plus 7+ years of professional cybersecurity experience, or 10+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Experience leading a team of direct reports.
• Experience implementing systems for adversary detection and incident response.
• Expertise in computer networks and large-scale distributed compute platforms.
• Experience leading 3–5 engineers on a technical cybersecurity project.
• Experience with vulnerability discovery and triage, continuity of operations planning, and Blue Team or Red Team assessments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences and learn new technologies quickly.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Applicants must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Benefits

• Base salary range is $225,000–$340,000, with a possible 10% clearance differential up to an additional $20,000 annually; compensation is excluded from this benefits summary.
