Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team during the night shift. This position involves providing care in a very high acuity unit where you will encounter a diverse range of critical cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide routine and complex nursing care, demonstrating an understanding of all relevant aspects of patient situations.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with protocols, monitoring for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care delivered accurately.
• Assess patient and family learning needs, providing education and identifying resources as necessary.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to other care providers to manage the clinical situation effectively.

Patient Care Focus:

The unit frequently handles cases related to:

• Strokes
• Cardiovascular issues
• Diabetes
• Wound care
• Behavioral health
• Sepsis
• Some trauma cases

Qualifications:

• Current RN License in the state of employment or a compact state.
• BLS certification via AHA required.
• ACLS certification via AHA required.
• PALS certification via AHA required.
• TNCC certification required.
• De-Escalation certification required.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Onboarding and Training:

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by designated trained staff and will complete an Emergency Department-specific competency validation.
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or structured orientation to achieve competency at the bedside.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected.
