Material Planner

Job Summary/Purpose Delta Utilities is seeking a Material Planner who will be responsible for managing material requirements, ensuring availability of components, and coordinating with suppliers, procurement, and production teams. This role is critical to maintaining on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. Accountabilities and Essential Functions Develop and manage material requirements plans based on production schedules, forecasts, and/or inventory requirements. Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase requisitions to maintain optimal stock. Collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and production to resolve shortages, delays, or quality issues. Track material flow to ensure timely availability for manufacturing operations. Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings. Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field or 4 plus years’ experience in lieu of a degree. Minimum Experience Required 2 plus years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or inventory management. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar). Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. Able to use a Personal Computer, SAP, and Mobile Data. Able to motivate self, accomplish tasks and achieve goals with minimal supervision including self‑directed learning. Able to respond well to changing priorities. Able to solve problems with logical solutions. Able to demonstrate and utilize effective oral and written communications skills. Able to communicate with co‑workers, customers, community leaders and/or contractors and vendors. Able to respond to customers with courtesy and knowledge. Able to demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures and do so consistently, take all required training courses and do so timely. Certificates, Licenses, etc. Required for the Position None Physical Requirements Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted. Able to perform on‑site inspections. Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment. Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects. Travel 25% travel Working Conditions Perform other job‑related duties as assigned, within your scope of responsibilities. Job duties are performed in a normal and clean office environment with normal noise levels. Work is predominately done while standing or sitting. The ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize and analyze are required. Able to work daily in all types of weather conditions. Able to work regular hours, with occasional overtime. Able to handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion. Able to work rotating shifts, if required. Able to respond to emergency calls and/or callouts and occasionally return to work while off duty. Able to wear and operate personal protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs daily. Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions. May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aid in restoration efforts.
