Java Developer Junior

Job Description Description SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented junior-level Java/JEE Developer to join our team in Ashburn, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career. This position will be 100% on-site in Ashburn, VA for the first year of employment. 2 days per week on-site after the first year. Job Responsibilities Design and implement microservices using the Spring framework. Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, VS Code, and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software. Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology. Qualifications Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field with 2+ years of technical experience.2+ years of Java J2EE/JEE design and software development experience including designing, developing, and documenting large-scale enterprise software systems.2+ years of working with Applications on Cloud utilizing serverless hosted services like AWS lambda.Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Angular, React, React-Native, NodeJS.Development of microservices using Spring. Primarily Spring Boot.Experience wiring up code to perform highly efficient CRUD operations on DBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate etc.Experience with NoSQL DBs like MongoDB, DocumentDB, DynamoDB etc.Developing and debugging complex SQL queries.Some experience and familiarity with Unix, Linux systems and commands along with some shell scripting.Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques.High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.Desired Skills and ExperienceMaster’s degree in computer science or related field.First-hand experience working with large project teams (working with the Federal Government a strong plus.)Experience working on an agile team such as Scrum.Experience writing code to interact with AWS services (e.g., S3, SQS, Lambda, Elasticache, MongoDB etc.)HTML and CSS.Docker, Konvoy, Kubernetes.Jenkins, Gitlab, Monitoring Tools.Customer RequirementsClearance – Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation.Citizenship – Must be a US Citizen.Location – This position will require on-site work in Ashburn, VA 5 days per week for the first year of employment. All candidates must be within the GWA/commut. Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
