PRN Registry Speech Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides speech therapy services to patients to enhance their level of care and maximize their functional potential.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Performs patient evaluations to determine patient problems to address.
2. Develops an individualized patient plan of care, speech therapy interventions and expected outcomes based on the evaluation and documents findings.
3. Implements or supervises the patient treatment within the established plan of care.
4. Evaluates or reassesses patient progress towards established goals.
5. Supervises Speech Therapist Assistant/Aide on rotation.
6. Assists in discharge planning including communication to the patient, family and other health care professionals.
7. Exercises the skills, safeguards and professional conduct of a Speech Therapist.
8. Completes other duties and special projects as assigned.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

1. Responsible for reporting breakdown of necessary support services to supervisor.
2. Assists in orienting staff members.
3. Supervise ST clinical students, teen volunteers and shadow students.
4. Assists with departmental Performance Improvement Program.
5. Maintain adequate supplies, assists in keeping department clean and ready for patient treatment.

Qualifications

Job Specifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited speech therapy program. Attend appropriate continuing education courses to maintain state licensure.
• Experience: Clinical experience from a school of speech therapy.
