Marine Galley Mates - Offshore - R/V Manta - $28/hr - Galveston, TX Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. is seeking Galley Mates to support vessel operations for the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, offshore from Galveston, Texas. These roles are seasonal and part-time, providing meal preparation and vessel support for research and outreach missions at sea. Ideal candidates are experienced in marine environments, adaptable to changing schedules, and comfortable working offshore for several days at a time. Perks & Benefits Competitive wages: $20/hr–$28/hr DOE Seasonal, part-time, on-call work Opportunity to work on research and outreach missions in a unique marine environment Work with a professional and collegial team supporting scientists and educators What You’ll Need At least 1 year of vessel deck management experience in offshore marine environments Ability to perform galley duties at sea, including meal prep and clean up Willingness to deploy at sea for up to 5 days at a time, up to 100 nautical miles offshore Ability to adjust to changing schedules due to weather or emergency operations Proven punctuality and professionalism Ability to work offshore without becoming seasick and assist others with motion sickness Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 lbs Current valid driver’s license First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications Possess or able to obtain NOAA Component Course certification Non-smoking vessels What Will Make You Stand Out Proficiency with scuba dive compressors, including NITROX percentage mixes at different levels (highly desirable but not required) #J-18808-Ljbffr
