Overview Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Contract We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role involves providing direct patient care to adult patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, with a focus on cardiac monitoring. As a Med-Surg/Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for continuous monitoring of patients' cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients in accordance with facility policies and standards of practice. Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment plans. Interpret and monitor cardiac telemetry rhythms and promptly report changes in patient status. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation. Respond effectively to changes in patient conditions and emergency situations. Adhere to all infection control, safety, and patient care protocols. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana. Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry experience. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electronic charting systems. Skills & Competencies Proficient in cardiac monitoring and interpretation of telemetry rhythms. Strong patient assessment skills. Medication administration skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Shift Details Shift Type: Night Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours/week Contract Dates: June 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026 Contract Length: 13 weeks Call Requirements: Not specified.
