In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

Federal Work Study student may apply.

In good disciplinary standing.

Reporting to the Senior Concert Producer, the Berklee Presents Production & Digital Media Assistant plays a vital dual role supporting event production logistics and amplifying the concert impact, cast members, and Berklee brand through engaging, behind-the-scenes digital content. This student employee will assist with production tasks through the life cycle of each concert, including auditions, rehearsal room setup/breakdown and cast support, while also capturing high-quality photos and video content during rehearsals, performances, and backstage moments. The assistant will support some of the duties of the Berklee Presents Production Assistant; organize and edit media assets in accordance with Berklee style guidelines; collaborating closely with professional marketing staff to create authentic social media campaigns that highlight the artistry and craft of Berklee students and the excitement of live events. They will also help with recording studio booking calendar and support the team and recording engineers with the coordination and scheduling of sessions. This role helps to create a safe and positive environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each student has an exceptional musical journey. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced and energetic team, and have a good knowledge of contemporary commercial music. They must also model the values of teamwork, respect, and self-confidence. The Berklee Presents team—which includes faculty, staff, and student employees—produces a variety of high-profile Signature Series concerts each year including Singers Showcase, Great American Songbook, and the Commencement Concert.

HOURS NEEDED: Hours are varied depending on the assigned project, but you must be consistently available for rehearsals on a Thursday evening during the Fall and Spring semester from 6:00pm-11:00pm, several Friday evenings from 5:00pm/6:00pm-11:00pm, and a few Saturday day rehearsals for full cast run throughs in B41 (150 Mass Ave - multipurpose room). Specific dates for full-cast rehearsals are TBD, but will be shared prior to the start of the first rehearsal in Fall semester. Must also be available to work several evenings during the “BPC Tech Week,'' and on the night of each production. Additional administrative pre-production work will be assigned, and can be completed remotely on a more flexible schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES: Production Support Support the Berklee Presents production team in performing numerous tasks as needed including distributing production schedules and setlists, set-up and break down of rehearsal room spaces, print and distribute musical charts, and oversee call times to ensure everything runs smoothly Assist with backstage support, including cast wrangling in the green room during rehearsals and on show nights Provide coverage for the Berklee Presents Production Assistant role as needed, ensuring seamless event operations. Coordinate with student performers, production team, and concert venue staff to ensure smooth communication and event flow. Send regular email updates, reminders, and notes to student cast members and the Berklee Presents team with the understanding of knowing who the audience is, and tailoring communications accordingly Help the team maintain cast production sheets in GoogleDrive, including cast availabilities, relaying important messages about absences and subs Take and disseminate rehearsal notes within the Berklee Presents team as directed by the Producer As needed, support the Assistant to the Arranger Supervisor to distribute and collect scores and parts during rehearsals and performances, ensuring correct versions are being used Students to achieve their musical and creative potential, and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging Assist with general administrative tasks for the Berklee Presents production team on an as-needed basis May work occasional prolonged or irregular hours, especially in the lead up to performances Digital Content Creation & Management Capture high-quality behind-the-scenes videos and photos using smartphone or provided equipment during rehearsals, soundchecks, and performances. Film and photograph candid moments that showcase the preparation, artistry, and energy behind Berklee Presents events. Edit and prepare content to meet Berklee Presents’ social media specifications and style guidelines, including short videos, reels, and still images. Establish and manage a dedicated Instagram account for the ensembles. Work closely with the core production team to maintain a consistent posting schedule and keeping the account active, ensuring that the content is appropriate and aligned with the ensemble’s overall voice and identity Organize, catalog, and label all media assets in a digital library for easy retrieval and future use. Where appropriate, collaborate with Berklee’s Digital Marketing team and Concert Operations Marketing area to align content with ongoing campaigns and promotional goals. REQUIRED SKILLS: Excellent work ethic with great attitude Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing digital media assets. Previous experience in event production or digital content creation is a plus. Strong time management skills, work well under pressure Reliable, punctual, and diligent Strong familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) and current digital trends. Experience with smartphone photography and videography, including basic video editing skills (e.g., using apps like Adobe Premiere Rush, iMovie, or similar).
