Responsibilities Provides patient care services, including assessment of workplace injuries or illnesses. Supports the leadership team at the assigned workplace; works with the site lead nurse to attain an efficient, high‑quality Occupational Health office. Supervises physician assistants, APRNs, resident physicians, medical students, and other paraprofessional healthcare students; supervises PAs and APRNs under charge while on duty. Participates in educational activities related to departmental needs; maintains MRO and FMCSA certifications as required. Participates in other departmental activities as required by the Medical Director, such as designated committee meetings. Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in occupational medicine and 3 years in urgent care or emergency medicine, with emphasis on hands‑on patient care. Experience in team leadership and supervising PAs and APRNs is a plus. Valid unrestricted medical license in CT; board certification in internal medicine, emergency medicine, family practice, or occupational medicine. DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate and CT Controlled Substance Registration. Membership in the medical staff of Yale NHH or its affiliates. Other certifications such as MRO or FMCSA may be required. Special Skills Supports marketing efforts for the department; visits client companies as needed; may practice occupational medicine or urgent care at company work sites; provides recommendations on employee and employer health policies; versed in walk‑in urgent care medicine.
