Registered Nurse CVICU

Job Summary:

Provide specialized critical care to post-surgical cardiac patients in a fast-paced CVICU environment. Deliver advanced nursing interventions, monitor patient recovery, and ensure adherence to care protocols to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer comprehensive critical care management for cardiac surgery patients, ensuring stability and recovery.
  
  
• 
  Implement and monitor advanced procedures such as balloon pump, Impella, and Hemosphere/Acuity systems.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities using Meditech Expanse and adhere to unit policies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate closely with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and respond promptly to emergencies.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about post-surgical recovery processes and status updates.
  
  
• 
  Comply with hospital and unit-specific guidelines, including safety protocols and equipment usage.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license with 2+ years of experience in cardiac or CVICU nursing.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in managing post-cardiac surgery patients, including those with advanced devices.
  
  
• 
  Possess ACLS certification and hands-on experience with balloon pump, Impella, or Hemosphere systems.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work 36-hour shifts, including rotating weekends, and float as required.
  
  
• 
  Be able to pass hospital-specific background and credential checks.
