Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage and care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, progressive care, and step-down level interventions.
• Perform and manage advanced clinical procedures including chest tubes, femstops, trachs, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drip medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation and care coordination.
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required) and Iowa (required upon offer).
• Minimum of 2 years of previous RN experience in a Med Surg, Telemetry, or PCU/Step-down setting.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Demonstrated competency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines.
• Experience administering and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drip medications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed.
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR.
