Corporate Controller

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Corporate Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $250,000 to $300,000 per year.

• Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements), ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and optimize payroll processes for dealership staff.
• Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
• Assist the CFO in developing and managing financial policies and procedures.
• Ensure that record-keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is required.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role.
• Automotive retail industry experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
