The Surgical Technician supports the surgical team by preparing and maintaining sterile environments, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety. They work closely with RNs and physicians to facilitate smooth surgical operations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms and endoscopy suites with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Maintain sterile fields and handle surgical instruments with precision.
- Assist physicians during surgical procedures by providing instrumentation and support.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all surgical and endoscopic equipment.
- Monitor and maintain surgical equipment, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Document surgical activities, incidents, and specimen handling accurately.
- Possess a certified Surgical Technologist credential or equivalent.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation.
- Proven ability to assist in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Require CPR certification and other relevant clinical skills.
- Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills.
- Be able to work effectively within the surgical team in high-pressure situations.
