Automotive Technician

Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and perform advanced vehicle repairs and maintenance. Perform emissions testing (state inspections where applicable). Move vehicles as needed and manage inventory. Document all repair work in DriveTime systems. Use computers for repair documentation and system entry. Explain automotive repairs and issues to management to minimize re‑work and delays. Keep area clean and organized to maintain safety and compliance. Qualifications Must be proficient in automotive repairs and able to troubleshoot basic automotive concerns. Must communicate causes and recommended corrections for vehicle issues. Must meet metric performance targets. Must be able to learn and operate basic computer systems. Must be organized, punctual, and maintain a safe and compliant workspace. Must comply with all DriveTime standards. High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate or Associate’s degree in automotive technology or 3+ years of automotive repair experience. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must be at least 18 years of age. Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently and to carry/transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet. Ability to stand for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, or wet with fumes or odors. Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity required. Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance. Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance in a safety‑sensitive technical environment.
