Project Surveyor / Senior Project SurveyorPlease make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.Location: Chantilly, VA (Washington, DC Metro Area)Salary Range: $80,000–$105,000Employment Type: Full-TimeFinal salary will be based on qualifications and experience and may exceed the range provided.Position SummaryBluebird Staffing is hiring on behalf of a leading multidisciplinary design firm seeking an experienced Project Surveyor / Senior Project Surveyor with a minimum of 5+ years of land surveying experience to join their Chantilly, VA office.This position is responsible for transforming raw field data, survey notes, and legal descriptions into precise technical drawings, maps, and official survey plats. The successful candidate will utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to support residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects by creating accurate visual and legal representations of property boundaries, topography, and existing conditions.The ideal candidate will have strong technical drafting skills, a solid understanding of land surveying principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with survey crews, engineers, project managers, and other professionals.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed and accurate survey deliverables, including:Boundary SurveysTopographic SurveysALTA/NSPS Land Title SurveysSubdivision PlatsAs-Built SurveysEasement and Right-of-Way ExhibitsImport, process, reduce, and manage electronic field data, including CSV files, GPS coordinates, and data collector files, within CAD platforms.Process digital terrain models (DTMs), surfaces, contours, and related survey information.Research and interpret public land records, deeds, historical plats, land titles, and municipal right-of-way information to establish property boundaries and resolve discrepancies.Read, interpret, and prepare metes-and-bounds legal descriptions for property acquisitions, easements, and other land-related projects.Review and revise drawings based on QA/QC comments, redlines, reviewer feedback, and municipal requirements.Ensure survey deliverables comply with applicable local ordinances, state standards, and established company procedures.Collaborate with field survey crews to clarify field data, notes, and measurements.Coordinate with project engineers, surveyors, and other team members to meet project specifications and deadlines.Maintain accurate and organized digital drawing files, project folders, and reference materials.Utilize document and project management systems to maintain data integrity and facilitate efficient retrieval of project information.Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Required Skills & QualificationsAdvanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3DStrong understanding of land surveying, geomatics, and civil infrastructure principles.Ability to interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, historical deeds, survey records, and field sketches.Strong mathematical and technical skills with exceptional attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively with field crews, engineers, surveyors, project managers, and municipal personnel.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.Education & Experience5+ years of dedicated land survey drafting experience, preferably within a civil engineering, surveying, or multidisciplinary design firm.High school diploma or equivalent required.Associate degree or technical certificate in Drafting/CAD, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is highly preferred.Experience with residential, commercial, and/or public infrastructure surveying projects is preferred. xhyhwjd BenefitsThe company offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' professional and personal goals, including:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysShort- and Long-Term Disability InsuranceLife and Accident InsuranceContinuing Education / Tuition ReimbursementProfessional Development OpportunitiesAdditional employee-focused benefitsEqual Opportunity EmployerBluebird Staffing and its client are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified individuals.
