Social Media Specialist

En Route – a strategic marketing agency located in Center City Philadelphia with a focus on tourism, cultural, civic, and sports projects – seeks a creative and forward-thinking Social Media Specialist develop and execute social media strategies, create engaging content, and manage social media channels on behalf of our clients. This full-time position is part of a marketing team that executes marketing strategies for campaigns and activations. The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with excellent writing, client service, organization, and an understanding of what drives engagement and results across social platforms. Reports to: Director of Client Delivery Primary work location: Center City Philadelphia Proactively develop effective strategies for client social media channels to engage and grow audiences and support specific marketing and communications goals. Proactivity develop platform-specific content plans and identify timely, relevant opportunities for clients to participate in social conversations, trends, and cultural moments. Proactively plan, collect, create, and manage social media content, including photography, video, graphics, and copy, working directly with clients and partners to source and develop new content. Capture original content on-site at client locations, events, and activations, and edit photography and video into polished, platform-ready content. Create social media graphics and other visual assets consistent with client brand standards. Write compelling, brand-appropriate copy tailored to individual platforms, audiences, and objectives. Manage client content calendars, including planning, scheduling, coordination, approvals, publishing, and quality control. Communicate directly with clients to gather information and assets, present content recommendations, manage approvals, and ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with client priorities. Manage social media communities on behalf of clients, including monitoring conversations, responding to comments and messages, identifying engagement opportunities, and escalating issues when appropriate. Monitor channel and content performance using social media analytics and reporting tools; identify insights and continually refine strategies and content to improve results. Provide social media performance insights and recommendations to clients and internal account teams. Develop and implement organic audience and follower growth strategies. Collaborate with the digital marketing team to develop paid social media campaigns, including recommendations for content, audiences, creative assets, and campaign objectives. Contribute to En Route’s influencer marketing programs, including influencer research and identification, relationship development, outreach, content coordination, and execution of influencer engagements and activations. Create social media toolkits, content packages, and other resources that enable clients, partners, stakeholders, and collaborators to amplify campaigns and initiatives. Develop and maintain productive relationships with social media creators, marketing partners, client partners, and other content resources. Manage En Route’s agency social media content calendar, ensuring the agency communicates timely, relevant, and of-the-moment information related to the agency, its clients, partners, industries, and areas of expertise. Maintain organized libraries of client social media assets, including photography, video, graphics, approved messaging, and other reusable content. Stay current on social media platforms, emerging channels, content formats, algorithms, audience behaviors, tools, and best practices, and recommend new approaches that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of client social media programs. What You Offer A minimum of two years of professional experience managing social media channels and campaigns. Demonstrated experience creating engaging social media content across multiple platforms. Exceptional writing, copywriting, and editing skills, with the ability to adapt voice and style for different clients and audiences. Experience capturing and editing short-form video and photography for social media. Working knowledge of graphic design and experience creating social-first visual content. Strong understanding of major social platforms, current content formats, platform best practices, and emerging trends. Experience using social media management, scheduling, and analytics platforms. Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts, priorities, deadlines, and approval processes simultaneously. Ability to interpret social media performance data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Strong client communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively with a variety of clients, partners, creators, and colleagues. Proactive, curious, collaborative, and comfortable bringing new ideas forward. Ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team. Strong proficiency with digital applications and the ability to quickly learn new platforms and tools. Marketing agency, account management, or relevant client-service experience a plus. Desire for continued professional growth, education, and development. Standard work hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Candidates must be available and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to capture content and support client and agency events, activations, and other live experiences. Travel to client sites in the Greater Philadelphia region and regional events will be required. Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license but need not own or have access to a vehicle.
