Forklift Operator

• Location: Sandston, VA
• Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly
• Pay:  $16.00–$18.00 per hour , based on experience

Available Shifts

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced  Forklift Operators to join our manufacturing team in Sandston, VA. This position is responsible for safely moving finished products and materials throughout the facility, loading and unloading trailers, supplying production machines, maintaining accurate inventory, and completing required documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a valid forklift certification/license, strong attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift and other powered industrial equipment.
• Receive finished products from the main banding line.
• Review load tags and accurately load products onto designated trailers or move products into inventory.
• Move materials and products from inventory to production machines as needed.
• Ensure products are moved to the appropriate next operation in a timely manner.
• Use scanners to accurately track products and maintain inventory records.
• Complete all required paperwork and production documentation.
• Conduct daily forklift and equipment inspections.
• Handle products carefully to minimize damage.
• Assist with feeding production machines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures and encourage safe practices among team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification/license is required.
• Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift with minimal product damage.
• Ability to accurately scan load tags and maintain inventory records.
• Ability to read and follow production schedules and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Required Skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent experience  preferred, but not required .

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands to handle, operate, and manipulate materials and equipment.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to occasionally sit as needed.
• Must have sufficient vision to safely operate equipment and inspect products, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a manufacturing facility that is  not climate controlled .
• Temperatures may range from approximately 30&degree;F to 110&degree;F depending on the season and working conditions.
