The RDH also educates patients on oral hygiene, acquire digital imaging, and applies fluoride or sealantsDuties include, but are not limited to:Update electronic health recordsUtilize oral pathology screening toolsRecord periodontal findingsComplete radiographs and dental impressionsWork with treating doctor to Identify conditions including gingivitis, periodontitis, and restorative needsPerform other identified proceduresProvide patient-centered oral health educationOffer post-operative instructionsDocument treatment in electronic recordsFollow infection control and OSHA standards for disinfection and sterilization of spaces and armamentariumMonitor materials and suppliesProvide optimal patient careOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications and SkillsAssociate degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA Accredited ProgramActive Illinois dental hygiene licenseCurrent CPR/BLS CertificationIn-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA)Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipmentOutstanding communication skillsOutgoing and compassionate personalityStrong attention to detailStamina to meet the physical demand of the jobPreferred Qualifications and SkillsExperience working with Dentrix and/or Eaglesoft SoftwarePhysical DemandsAbility to sit, stand or walk for extended periodsAbility to wear a facemask for long durationsWork EnvironmentWork will be completed at a dental practiceRequirementsBasic RequirementsEducation: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene.Licensure: Must hold a valid state dental hygienist license.Certifications: CPR certification may be required.Experience: Some positions prefer 1-3 years of experienceNew graduates welcome
