NuWest Group is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant for a local contract opportunity at an outpatient addiction treatment clinic in Auburn, Washington. This position supports an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) that provides medication-assisted treatment paired with behavioral health counseling in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented CMA who is committed to treating every patient with respect, dignity, and compassion, and who values a harm reduction approach to opioid use disorder treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate patient flow and prepare patients for visits, examinations, and procedures in accordance with established workflows
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs and required screenings
• Perform blood draws, UA collections including observed collections as indicated, and EKGs
• Prepare appropriate paperwork for procedures, laboratory work, tests, and provider referrals
• Review patient schedules and EMR in advance of visits to identify outstanding medical reports and communicate findings to the attending provider
• Ensure security of medications, patient records, and documentation required by the DEA and applicable state agencies
• Maintain a high-quality patient care environment by cleaning, preparing, and stocking exam rooms, lavatories, and treatment areas
• Assist with care, cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and instruments
• Establish and maintain inventory supply schedules and storage of necessary supplies
• Ensure implementation of all clinic policies and procedures and recommend updates as needed
• Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations including Board of Health, OSHA, and HIPAA
• Participate in federal and state substance abuse training and continuing education as required
• Interact with all staff in a positive, professional, and collaborative manner
• Conduct all business activities in a professional and ethical manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of a qualified Medical Assistant program
• Active Medical Assistant certification valid in Washington State
• Minimum 1 year of patient care experience in a clinical setting
• Availability for both shift time frames: 9:30 AM 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records systems
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress clinical environment
• Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Must be local to the Auburn, WA area

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with EKGs, blood draws, and UA collections
• Experience in an Opioid Treatment Program or substance use disorder treatment setting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with harm reduction philosophy and medication-assisted treatment models
• Strong conflict-resolution and diplomatic communication skills
• Patient-centered approach with a commitment to treating all patients with respect and dignity
