Director of Nursing – Pediatrics

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 per year

Facility Type: Long-Term Care (LTC) / Inpatient Facility

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing – Pediatrics to lead nursing operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within a pediatric long-term care or inpatient facility in Brooklyn, NY.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical leadership experience, a background in pediatric nursing, and a proven ability to manage nursing teams, oversee clinical operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote the highest standards of patient safety and care quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate pediatric patient care.

• Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other clinical personnel.
\n
• Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
\n
• Ensure compliance with New York State Department of Health requirements, facility policies, and relevant regulatory standards.
\n
• Monitor patient outcomes, clinical quality indicators, infection prevention practices, and patient safety initiatives.
\n
• Manage nursing staff recruitment, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
\n
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, facility administrators, and families to coordinate comprehensive pediatric care.
\n
• Oversee staffing plans, scheduling, workload distribution, and appropriate nursing coverage.
\n
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
\n
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure timely reporting of incidents, changes in patient conditions, and other required information.

• Support budget planning, resource allocation, and the effective utilization of nursing personnel and clinical supplies.
\n
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professional excellence, and family-centered care.

Qualifications

\n
• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
\n
• Previous experience in a nursing leadership role, such as Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Nursing Administrator.
\n
• Demonstrated experience working in a pediatric long-term care (LTC) or inpatient healthcare facility.
\n
• Strong understanding of pediatric nursing practices, clinical operations, and nursing administration.
\n
• Knowledge of New York State healthcare regulations, quality assurance standards, infection control, and patient safety requirements.
\n
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage staffing needs, and drive clinical quality improvement.
\n
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Director of Nursing experience in a pediatric healthcare setting.
\n
• Experience managing complex pediatric patient populations and coordinating interdisciplinary care.
\n
• Familiarity with regulatory surveys, audits, quality improvement programs, and facility accreditation processes.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 , depending on qualifications, leadership experience, and clinical background.
