Nurse PractitionerLexington Women's Health, an Axia Women's Health care center, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join their growing team.Locations in Lexington & Nicholasville, KentuckyProvider Team: 6 OB/GYN Physicians, 2 GYN Physicians, 7 Nurse Practitioners, 3 Certified Nurse Midwives & GrowingAffiliated with Baptist Health - LexingtonMonday through FridayThe Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN - CNP) provides comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion.Practices under the standard procedure established for the Nurse Practitioner role consistent with company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.Performs routine physical examinations within scope of practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings. Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies.Provides education on women's issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications.Orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications within scope of practice.Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care.Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care.Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient needs and assessment findings.Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.Reviews medical record for follow-up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events.Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Qualifications:Must have active, unrestricted, KY APRN-CNP license and DEA.Must be able to meet all credentialing requirements.Strong understanding of healthcare principles, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.Ability to analyze complex situations, make sound clinical judgments, and adapt treatment plans as necessary.Effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
