Relevant years of experience and education will be considered General Description Provide monitoring of participants throughout the overnight shift, ensuring the safety of participants, as well as the availability of participants to seek assistance and guidance should it be necessary. Ensure a home-like atmosphere, allowing all participants to reside in a safe and stable atmosphere, while obtaining the skills and resources necessary to acquire self-sufficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides immediate direction and support to participants by addressing participant issues and providing appropriate and necessary assistance with regard to crisis situations, as they arise. Reviews daily case notes and incident reports to familiarize yourself with the activities and status of all ESSHI participants. Completes shift logs, record participant contacts throughout shift as directed. Remains apprised and familiar with the participant emergency contacts, hotline protocol and the location of emergency supplies at facility, utilizing police, crisis and hotline interventions as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Maintains clear and regular dialogue with all staff, to ensure continuity of care is maintained. Reports and documents all incidents, first aid treatments, medical emergencies, or other crisis according to policy and procedures. Follows agency safety, and emergency protocols. Ensures that people exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted without due process. Ensures people are treated with dignity and respect. Maintains and expand skills and knowledge relevant to providing high quality support and services, keeping abreast of and following program policies and procedures. Appropriately communicates all pertinent information during the work shift and from shift to shift to other team members and/or assigned supervisor. Ensures facility is never left unsupervised during scheduled shifts, never leaving the facility unattended. Attends all mandatory staff meetings, staff development trainings and mandatory compliance training. Maintains flexibility in work schedule based on needs of participants; including working overtime, non-traditional hours and/or covering additional shifts on an emergency basis. Requirements Additional Qualifications Demonstrate ethical business practices, in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to understand written, oral and computer instruction. Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, based upon needs of the Agency. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all records reviewed including consumer records, employee records and billing records. Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver’s record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier. Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle. Correctly follow procedures for mandated reporting and responding. Background checks may be required per program regulations. Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support organizational mission, philosophy, and policies Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals Ability to understand the concept of "mandated reporter" and is diligent in reporting situations to the proper authorities when children may be at risk for abuse and/or neglect. Correctly follow procedures for mandated reporting and responding Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations with all those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing and documentation standards.
