Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: RN Telemetry I Specialty: RN Telemetry I Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work with minimal supervision Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Cares for all cardiac needs including post-operative care. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6. The unit is supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor technicians for telemetry patients. Requires floating to cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical departments as needed. May require working up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period and holidays if needed.
