Central Sterile Technologist-(certification preferred)

JOB SUMMARY :

Cleans, processes and sterilizes reusable equipment and supplies for use in patient care areas of the hospital.

1. Cleans and processes instruments for sterile use.

1. Operates equipment such as sterilizers and distillery.

1. Maintains work areas in a manner according to hospital policies and

procedures.

1. Attends inservice education programs as directed.

1. All other duties as assigned.

1. Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and

Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.

1. Must be able to cross-train to other units as designated.

1. Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.

1. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.

1. Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on

quality improvement teams.

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING :

High school diploma. Sterile Processing Certified Tech. preferred. Reading and writing skills essential.

WORK EXPERIENCE :

Previous hospital experience preferred.
