Maintenance PlannerThe primary role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles through proper planning of the required materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work. The planner is responsible for the planning of all maintenance work performed in the area to which they are assigned. The Maintenance Planner will keep appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or completed work.What You'll Be Doing:Reviews and screens each work order to see that it has been properly completed.Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures as required.Examines jobs to be completed and determine best way to accomplish the work.Identifies and obtains (requisitions, orders, kits as appropriate and in keeping with procedures) materials, special tools and equipment necessary to complete the work.Determines if critical items are in stock by verifying availability.Estimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost.Maintains backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion date.Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience.Reviews of actual labor expended versus estimated labor and material used for completed jobs.Conducts informal training as required of maintenance personnel regarding proper maintenance procedures and the use of any applicable maintenance software.Reviews all completed work orders for accuracy, updating machinery history data in applicable maintenance system of record as needed, and ensures bill of materials are up to date.Understands the proper methods of replacing or maintaining typical mechanical equipment items.
