Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous telemetry experience - Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips and cardiac rhythm interpretation - Ability to confirm telemetry tech findings Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to work in a telemetry setting. The unit has 21 beds and provides care for patients with various conditions, including Med Surg, Ortho, Neuro, and Telemetry cases. Procedures include ORIF and total joint surgeries, spinal and neck surgeries, hemodialysis, and chest pain evaluations. Registered Nurses will work with patient ratios of 1:5-6 during day and night shifts. Support on the unit includes charge nurses who may or may not have patient assignments. Phlebotomy staff will draw peripheral blood only, and respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Hospitalist support is on-call around the clock. Travelers will float to like units as necessary. Weekend rotation involves working every other weekend. Scheduling requires working 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. Participants must work 2 to 3 holidays during the contract period. Scrub colors required are pewter, and T-shirts must be gray, white, or black with a designated monogram. Jackets must be gray or black, and badges should be visible at all times. The culture on the unit is team-oriented with an open-door policy.
