Float Medical AssistantPremier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and flexible Float Medical Assistant to join our team supporting our Ridley Park, Glen Mills, Media, and Aston, PA locations. As two of the region's most respected providers of orthopedic and upper extremity care, we offer a collaborative, patient-focused environment that prioritizes clinical excellence, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.The Float Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support across multiple office locations based on staffing and operational needs. This position will provide coverage during employee absences, leaves, staffing shortages, and periods of high patient volume. In addition to traditional Medical Assistant responsibilities, the role will assist with preparing and organizing medical records and charts related to legal work, helping providers efficiently review records and complete legal reports. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires travel between assigned office locations.Key responsibilities include:Providing Medical Assistant coverage across assigned office locations based on staffing and patient care needs.Preparing patients for visits, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, reviewing intake information, and ensuring accurate documentation within the EMR.Assisting providers during examinations, procedures, and other clinical activities as directed.Preparing patient charts prior to visits and ensuring required documentation, imaging, testing, and other information are available for provider review.Facilitating communication between patients and providers by collecting and relaying pertinent information and carrying out provider directives.Assisting providers with prescriptions, forms, patient education, and other clinical documentation as directed.Preparing and organizing medical charts and records related to legal work to support timely provider review and completion of legal reports.Assisting with medical record management and other administrative responsibilities associated with legal documentation.Maintaining exam rooms and clinical workspaces, including cleaning and restocking supplies and monitoring inventory.Performing administrative and clerical responsibilities, including scanning documents, managing records, and supporting provider schedules and EMR tasks.Maintaining patient confidentiality and supporting HIPAA, safety, quality, and organizational compliance requirements.Promoting a positive patient experience and providing professional, collaborative support to physicians, staff, and patients across assigned locations.Performing other duties as assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required.Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.Previous Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice or clinical setting preferred.Orthopedic experience preferred.Ability and willingness to travel between assigned office locations as needed.Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.Ability to adapt to different office environments, providers, and workflows.Compensation & Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans100% employer-paid life insurance401(k) with employer matchBenefits begin the first of the month following hire date (for full-time employees)Generous paid sick and vacation time7 paid holidays annuallyOpportunities for growth and advancementEmployee referral reward programAbout Premier Orthopaedics & Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder:Premier Orthopaedics and Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center (PHSC) are leading providers of comprehensive musculoskeletal care throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.Premier Orthopaedics delivers expert treatment for orthopedic injuries, joint disease, interventional spine care, regenerative medicine, and comprehensive physical therapy services, supported by more than 170 providers across 50+ locations.
