Title Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Location White Plains Organization Unit Center for Autism and Developing Brain Work Days & Hours Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status Exempt Salary Range $82,400.00 - $90,700.00 (NYC Office adjustment per NY Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018) Position Summary Works with patients, family members, and caregivers of people with autism spectrum disorders to apply principles of learning and behavior to describe how particular behaviors occur in context; plans and executes interventions to change maladaptive behaviors or teach new behaviors needed for independent functioning. Works with patients in a family context for parent coaching and in a small toddler group setting. Job Responsibilities Teach toddler group programs for patients with autism spectrum disorder. Use naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention (NDBI) strategies for intervention with patients with autism and parent coaching. Write programs for behavior support; create goals, objectives, and data sheets for intervention. Maintain active and supportive communication with patients and families regarding progress, problems, services, and other issues related to the therapeutic process. Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments of patients, including functional analyses, and provide behavior analytic interpretations of the results. Design behavior analytic interventions. Develop and implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods for use in unfamiliar situations and across a range of cases. Set up and take down session materials; create session materials including art projects and visual supports. Document care provided in accordance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and professional standards. Attend patient care conferences and other related meetings. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance program, safety, environment, and infection control standards; uphold high ethical standards; participate in educational and in‑service programs. Provide consultation for patients with autism spectrum disorders on inpatient and outpatient units. Perform internal and external public education programs, including periodic in‑service presentations. Perform other job‑related duties to support various CADB intervention services, including organizing materials and supporting interventionists for their group and individual sessions. Education Master's Degree Experience 1–3 years working with young children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA). NY State Licensure in Behavior Analysis. Qualified Personnel as defined by the New York State Early Intervention Program (e.g., speech‑language pathologist, school psychologist, social worker, special education teacher, TSHH, etc.) and NYS licensure in that field. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Possesses an understanding of, and practices, cultural sensitivity with diverse groups while providing direct services. Proven ability to work independently and as an effective, collaborative member of a team. Excellent listening skills and ability to empathize. Licenses & Certifications Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA). NY State Licensure in Behavior Analysis. Working Conditions & Physical Demands This role is performed in a clinical setting. Additional responsibilities may involve occasional travel to different sites.
