Major Areas of Responsibility Provide quality modified primary and urgent care Provide emergency care as indicated If less than 3 years of experience, Board of Nursing requires a supervising provider: Provides care under direction and review of supervising provider, in accordance with written prescriptive guidelines and protocols Consult and collaborate with supervising provider as needed NPs with greater than 3 years of experience should apply for independent practice Maintain review mechanism of clinical performance by peers Sensitive to diverse and cultural needs of students Formulate and update NP protocols Maintain licensure and certifications. Be available to the RN staff for consultation when need. Development and implementation of community education programs Development of leadership and educational opportunities for students as indicated Participates in the Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement and peer review process as dictated by the AAAHC: Suggest and support ongoing process improvement. Optimize utilization of existing electronic medical records and prescriptive resources. Work effectively as a liaison between various departments/users to ensure that services, quality and costs are balanced. Practice in a financially responsible way. Active participation at department, divisional staff meetings Participate in performance reviews . Advisor to peer educator group if applicable Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Individuals must possess certification as a Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner with a current license to practice in Massachusetts. Bachelor of Science degree Master of Science degree in Nursing State and federal DEA numbers. Two to three years of clinical experience in primary care or emergency nursing. Current CPR certification Understanding and respect for Jesuit tradition and values. Core Competencies Assessment and treatment of acute health issues Development and implementation of care that meets physical, psychological and spiritual needs. Independent decision making. Practice reflects the ability to reduce risk, participation in a risk management program. Understanding of health care systems and integration of new information and methodologies into current practice Applications of ethical principles and codes of professional practice as established in the MA nurse practice act. Engagement in evidence-based nursing and medical practice Promotion of patient rights and responsibilities Application of basic nursing clinical procedures Incorporation of self-care, health promotion, disease prevention and wellness theories Complies with HIPPAA and FERPA privacy and confidentiality requirements Utilization of patient assessment tools Conducting quality review of records and data to identify opportunities for improving care Team building and consensus building skills Flexibility Implements strategies for targeted student health behaviors, based on reliable data Use of active communication skills Use of interpersonal communication skills for work team effectiveness Understands, values and respects diversity as an individual, in a team and within groups while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. Salary Salary: The salary range for this 10-month position is $80,000–$85,000, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
