JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Social Worker III – Adult Protective Services Position #5310-303-16 – Permanent, Full-time Application Period: June 30, 2026 – July 13, 2026

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide intensive social work services in serious and complicated cases, using a wide range of social work skills and intervention techniques. Manage a caseload of several clients (approximately 12 to 18) and administer programs including Medicaid Administrative Claiming, Guardianship, Representative Payee, Individual and Family Case Management, Adult Home Specialist, and Special Assistance In-Home. Complete Adult Protective Service Intake and Evaluations, Outreach visits, Multi-disciplinary Evaluations, and related tasks. Set mutually agreed-upon goals with clients; conduct home visits; transport clients to medical appointments and other locations based on client needs. Ensure clients’ bills are paid, assist with acquiring housing for clients and physically assist with moves, and assist with instrumental activities of daily living and other duties to promote client safety and development. Be willing to be trained offsite and onsite in programs and techniques; accept direction from the Supervisor and others regarding client well-being; work in a team environment across borders and boundaries as needed. Record creation, keeping, and maintenance must be performed in a timely manner as directed by the Supervisor. Demonstrate useful skills such as organization, patience, people skills, adaptability in re-prioritizing, self-motivation, and problem solving. Participate in rotation of on-call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays; assist in the operation of a community shelter in the event of an emergency.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; or Master’s degree in a human services field and one year directly related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

SELECTION PROCESS
