Community Experience & House Operations Manager

About the Role This is an in-person, on-site role at our Culver City flagship. It's built for someone who loves being on the floor, the first person a member meets, the reason a visit feels considered, and who also wants real ownership over how the physical space runs behind the scenes. You'll hold the full arc of the member experience while managing the vendors, facilities, and day-to-day operations that keep the house running beautifully. You'll lead the concierge team, and your success in this role will be measured as much by how well you delegate and develop them as by what you handle personally. In practice, that breaks down to roughly 40% member experience and floor presence, 25% facilities and house operations, 20% events and programming, and 15% communications, systems, and team leadership. What You'll Do: Member Experience & Community Welcome members and guests, and lead new-member orientations that make people feel instantly at home Own retention: gather feedback, run regular check-ins and surveys, and turn what you hear into real changes Build genuine relationships with members to understand their needs and keep the community feeling personal, not transactional Maintain a visible, warm presence on the floor — rotating through the house to check in and connect with members in person Support the front desk and member check-in during peak hours and events, so access never feels like a bottleneck Respond to member inquiries, complaints, and requests quickly, and keep a clear record of every piece of feedback Events & Programming Plan and deliver community events and programming, working closely with the marketing team on promotion and communications Coordinate member tours, open houses, and community-facing activities that bring new people into the fold Provide on-site and off-site support at member and community events, big and small Develop member perk partnerships with local businesses — hotels, wellness practitioners, technology companies, creative spaces, and more — that add real value to membership Communications & Systems Keep membership records and CRM data accurate and current, including member status and account details Manage community-wide communications — newsletters, comms calendars, the member portal and app — in partnership with the marketing team Build regular reporting on community health and engagement to share with leadership Facilities & House Operations Serve as the primary point of contact for the building's property management team and facilities vendors Run regular walkthroughs to keep furnishings, equipment, and amenities in excellent condition Coordinate vendor relationships across IT, AV, utilities, and building systems Keep the house compliant with safety training, permits, and local regulations Track and report on house and amenities budget, inventory, and supplies Team Coordination Lead the concierge team's day-to-day work — setting schedules, delegating priorities, and developing their skills so the house runs smoothly Coordinate with front desk and concierge staff to ensure a seamless, well-staffed member experience What We're Looking For: Required Skills Experience in hospitality, coworking, or community management Comfortable owning both relationships and operations, from member care to vendor coordination Strong organizational follow-through and attention to detail Availability for in-person work at our Culver City flagship, including occasional evenings and weekends for events A proactive, solutions-first approach to problem-solving Comfortable building and maintaining SOPs, documentation, and repeatable processes Tech-forward - comfortable learning and adopting new tools and systems to keep operations running smoothly Nice to Have Experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment Background in high-touch hospitality or event-based membership environments (private clubs, boutique hotels, member-based spaces) Personal Qualities A genuine love of people and hosting — you notice what others miss Clear, warm communication style $60,000–$75,000 annual base salary Full-time benefits package Full Blackbird membership and access to community programming Blackbird House exists to give women of color, allies and co-conspirators a space built for advancement, connection, and honest conversation.
