Job Summary

Responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and repaired in a manner which meets company standards and minimizes downtime.
• Hire, train, develop and manage all maintenance department employees.
• Assess, develop and prioritize the scope of projects; assigns department personnel accordingly.
• Solicits and reviews bids and quotes from vendors; selects and manages vendor work.
• Purchases parts and supplies for maintenance department.
• Coordinates with production supervisors the scheduling of repair and maintenance work.
• Maintains the minimum spare parts inventory while ensuring minimum
• Works closely with Plant Scheduler in developing and scheduling preventative maintenance.
• May assist in repair and maintenance activities.
• Develops and manages department budget.
• Review and approve time sheets.
• Write and deliver performance reviews and recommend salary changes.
• Timely advise to address personnel issues with Plant Manager and Human Resources.
• Process all injury reports and correct any unsafe work conditions as soon as possible.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area that promotes safety and efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality system standards and the unit’s food safety and security programs in support of essential manufacturing strategies and practices.
• Serve as Alternate to Director of Maintenance on the JFI SQF Team
