Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
5+ years of professional engineering experience emphasizing transportation engineering
EIT Registration required, or 6+ years of relevant transportation engineering experience accepted in lieu
Experience preparing roadway or traffic construction plans/studies required
Demonstrated ability to direct tasks and perform QA/QC on projects
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Valid state driver's license or reliable transportation for office/site visits
Proficient in engineering software such as Bentley Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D
Knowledge of DOT standards, permitting, and ADA requirements

Preferred Background & Skills

Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
Previous experience with urban and rural highway/intersection design
Familiarity with BlueBeam, AutoTurn, GuideSIGN
Knowledge of environmental factors in roadway design, including stormwater and drainage
Experience engaging with clients, agencies, and public meetings
Background in sustainable transportation and multi-modal planning

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Develop detailed roadway designs and engineering plans for transportation projects
Lead technical quality control, project documentation, and task direction for designers and EITs
Conduct data analysis, mapping, field reviews, and research to inform design decisions
Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and agencies
Prepare technical presentations, meeting materials, and reports for various stakeholders
Integrate innovative, sustainable solutions and environmental considerations into project planning
Mentor junior staff and contribute to professional development activities
