Class A HAZMAT Truck Driver /HAZMAT & Emergency Response

Clean Harbors in Whiteville, NC is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks/work equipment at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll offs. The role involves driving and various non-driving duties related to hazardous waste cleanup. Travel / On Call / Emergency Response Drivers may be required to travel, be on call, and respond to emergencies on a rotating basis. Hourly Range $25.00 – $30.00 All new hires must attend a two‑week training academy. Travel expenses are paid by the company and a per diem is provided. Responsibilities Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed. Operate a variety of Class A trucks. Load and unload trucks. Perform manual labor on site to meet customer needs. Properly placard vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements. Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports. Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations. Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and other requirements. Observe all corporate operating guidelines and environmental health and safety guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week. Handle site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous materials. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL. Ability to operate a manual transmission. Hazmat and Tanker endorsement. Ability to use various mobile devices. Perform physical functions as required by the job. Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical. Meet facial hair standards per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard if required to use respirators. Preferred Qualifications Commercial driver experience. Hazmat and Tanker endorsement. Previous Hazmat experience. Previous manual labor experience.
