Job Details - Travel Nursing / Med Surg RN

• Assignment Type: Travel (travel nursing job, Telemetry RN)
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (2W)
• Start Date: June 1, 2026
• End Date: August 31, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (every other weekend and holiday required)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6 (especially on nights)
• Scrubs: Navy blue

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio or an active Compact Multistate RN License
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience (Med Surg RN / Telemetry RN)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke certification required
• Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)
• Experience managing insulin gtts and other drips
• Ability to read and verify telemetry strips in EPIC once per shift; EPIC experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and acute care experience (wound vacs, PICC, central lines, advanced airway support)
• Travel nursing experience is helpful but not required
• This position will not accept local candidates

Responsibilities - Med/Surg Telemetry RN

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based care plans
• Administer medications and manage drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin - typically non-titratable)
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and verify strips in EPIC per unit protocol
• Care for patients with wound vacs, PICC lines, central lines, and provide advanced airway support (BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, nasal cannulas)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, RT, PT, case management) to coordinate timely, patient-centered care
• Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement and infection control initiatives
• Provide patient and family education, supporting transitions of care and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
• Maintain professionalism, compliance with hospital policies, and adherence to clinical best practices
