Registered Nurse - Telemetry Float

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of telemetry experience and must be comfortable floating to Med-Surg and other telemetry units.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry experience required.
• Must be able to float to Med-Surg and other Tele units.
• Ventilator experience is mandatory.
• Must have experience with EPIC electronic health records.
• Ability to read cardiac strips is essential.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Unit Details

• Average Census: 36 patients
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Scrubs: Royal Blue

Patient Population

This position involves working with a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics.

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring (both on-unit and remote)
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams

Cardiovascular Skills

• Post Cardiac Angiogram care
• Post Myocardial Infarction (MI) management
• Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
• Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery management

IV Therapy and Phlebotomy Skills

• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs

Medication Management Skills

• Experience with Heparin protocols
• Administer cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration necessary)

Respiratory and Thoracic Skills

• Caring for chronic/long-term ventilated patients
• Management of chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac)
• Experience with external CPAP/BiPAP and High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Nasal Cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen face mask application
• Tracheostomy management

Scheduling Requirements

Must provide requests for time off (RTOs) upon submission. Note that no time off is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment. Once RTO is submitted, changes can only be made to cancel the requested time off.
