Job Description
Embark on a dynamic contract role supporting students across multiple school sites as a Floating Substitute Paraprofessional! This position guarantees 30 hours per week (when school is in session Monday through Friday), providing you with consistency while allowing you to contribute to a variety of classrooms within a large district covering 42 schools—primarily elementary settings.
Float between teams assigned to specific communities within the district—Champlin, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, Andover, or the Rivertrail Learning Center (Setting 4 program)—offering essential support when staff call out. You'll work with students receiving special education services, assist with behavioral needs, and may perform toileting or other personal care as needed. Responsibilities may include 1:1 student support or classroom aide roles, so adaptability and teamwork are key.
Qualifications:
- Must be Highly Qualified as a Paraprofessional in MN (pass the MN Para Educator Exam or have at least 60 college credits with transcripts)
- Resume and proof of Highly Qualified status are required upon application
- Experience working in schools, preferably with special education and behavioral interventions
- Comfort assisting students with behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and personal care needs
- Willingness and flexibility to travel among various buildings within the district; reliable transportation required
Role Highlights:
- Guaranteed 30 hours of pay per week when school is in session (subject to coverage availability)
- Classroom shifts are typically from 9:10am to 4:10pm, varying slightly by school level
- Direct supervisor support for shift assignments and scheduling
- Opportunity to make a difference across diverse educational environments
Ready to take on a meaningful and stable role making an impact each day? Submit your resume and documentation of Highly Qualified status to get started on this rewarding journey working with students and dedicated school crews!
Compensation for this position ranges from $20.86 to $34.86. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
