The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a part-time Head Cook for our meals program at YMCA of Greater Erie. This position pays $11.38 - $14.23 per hour.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PART-TIME HEAD COOK

As a Head Cook, you will be responsible for the supervision and preparation of all meals, maintaining quality foods and comply with all federal CACFP regulations and recordkeeping. Always conscientious, you provide proper sanitation and housekeeping in your designated work areas. You are careful to follow food safety procedures at all times!

You are friendly and patient as you assist community members with the distribution and/or new enrollment of participants into the YMCA Food Program. As a key liaison between the community and the YMCA, you keep this good rapport going as you communicate with participants in the program with a friendly and welcoming attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PART-TIME HEAD COOK

• Minimum of two years' experience as a cook
• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Act 33, Act 34 and FBI clearances to comply the Child Protective Services Act.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: New Employee Orientation, Mandated Reporter, Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; Pediatric CPR/ First Aid/ AED; Bloodborne Pathogens, and other OSHA required trainings, Fire & Water Safety Training

The typical schedule for this part-time position is 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
