Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients on the medical-surgical unit, ensuring their safety and comfort, and facilitating their recovery.


Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
• Monitor patient conditions continuously and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
• Perform assessments to evaluate patients' health status and response to treatment.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication management, and overall health maintenance.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

Shift Details

This position involves 12-hour shifts, with options for day shifts (7 AM - 7 PM) or night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM). The RN will be expected to work every other weekend and every other holiday. Flexibility for limited time off (RTO) is allowed, with a maximum of 3 days per request.

Patient Ratios

The ratios will vary depending on the shift:

• Day Shift (7 AM - 11 PM): 5 patients per nurse
• Night Shift (11 PM - 7 AM): 6 patients per nurse
• Telemetry (7 AM - 11 PM): 4 patients per nurse
• Telemetry (11 PM - 7 AM): 5 patients per nurse

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry nursing role.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

This role involves self-scheduling; however, the schedule will be balanced, ensuring the needs of the team and patients are met. Special requests related to scheduling will be accommodated whenever possible.
