Job Title: Insulator Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Insulator to join our team, where you will be involved in essential prep work and cleanup tasks to prepare jobsites for insulation or waterproofing. This role involves tasks such as scraping excess insulation off joists and trusses. You will have the opportunity to grow within the company, advancing your skills from blown-in insulation and spray foam application to installing air vapor barriers. Comprehensive training will be provided, and you will work with basic hand tools and hoses connected to 55-gallon drums of spray foam insulation. A respirator is required during tasks, as the material is non-toxic but should not be inhaled.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean jobsites for insulation and waterproofing.

• Scrape excess insulation from joists and trusses.

• Install thermal insulation and spray foam insulation.

• Work with basic hand tools and hoses connected to spray foam drums.

• Ensure safety protocols are followed, including wearing a respirator.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years of construction experience (e.g., carpentry, concrete, insulation).

• Valid driver's license.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work at different heights.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with tools such as hammers, drills, and bolts.

• Knowledge in areas like framing, roofing, drywall, flooring, and finishing carpentry.

• Familiarity with power tools and blueprints.

• Experience with commercial construction, caulking, and painting.

Work Environment

Work on vacant jobsites such as hospitals, schools, universities, office buildings, and stadiums. You will be paired with a supervisor and work alongside a crew of 3-4 people, in environments undergoing renovations or new constructions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
