Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Contract) Pay: $62.00-$81.70/hour Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and production of advanced electrical power systems for aerospace and lighter‑than‑air (LTA) vehicle applications. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer with expertise in power distribution, controls, system integration, and aerospace‑grade electrical design. Key Responsibilities Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for aerospace vehicles and ground support equipment. Lead electrical power system design, analysis, load studies, capacity planning, and optimization efforts. Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and production‑ready engineering documentation. Support instrumentation, controls, communications systems, PLCs, VFDs, and power distribution systems. Participate in system integration, troubleshooting, validation, and first‑article testing activities. Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with customer, safety, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Travel occasionally to North Carolina manufacturing facilities to support production and testing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 10+ years of electrical design engineering experience. Strong background in electrical power systems, transformers, power distribution, and system analysis. Experience creating manufacturing‑ready engineering documentation. Hands‑on experience with system integration, testing, and troubleshooting. Aerospace, aviation, defense, or related industry experience strongly preferred. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills. Active U.S. Secret Clearance is a plus but not required.
