Classification Non-Exempt Reports to Head Teller/Branch Manager Department Teller Line Date of Revision April 23, 2026 Summary The Teller is responsible for conducting and processing various types of member transactions while delivering the West-Aircomm Experience. This includes providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service to members while adhering to bank teller policy and procedure guidelines and going the extra mile to retain member loyalty and satisfaction. Tellers must maintain a balanced cash drawer and build member relationships to identify products and services that meet the member’s banking needs. Essential Functions Serve members by accurately and efficiently completing account transactions. Provide account services to members by receiving deposits, loan payments, cashing checks, and issuing withdrawals for regular shares, share drafts, club accounts, money market accounts, and kids’ accounts by check or cash. Process night drop and mail deposits. Handle regular IRA contributions. Sell cashier’s checks, money orders, and gift cards. Handle VISA advances and post VISA payments. Process member transfers of funds. Open Christmas club and vacation club accounts. Close regular shares, share drafts, club accounts, money market accounts, and kids’ accounts. Accept safety deposit box payments and other miscellaneous cash transactions. Gather documentation related to Currency Transaction Reports and report suspicious activity to the BSA Committee via Verafin. Record appropriate transactions in the Monetary Instrument Log. Balance teller drawer. Co-balance teller vault. Other Duties Cross-sell all credit union products and services. Build trusting relationships, member loyalty, and satisfaction. Understand and comply with all bank secrecy policies and compliance requirements. Manage risk in every transaction and detect fraudulent activity to prevent losses. Assist members, answer questions, and direct them to the appropriate department. Operate and maintain all necessary teller equipment. File transfer cards. Flexibility to report to and assist other branches upon request. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Teller or Branch Manager. Education and Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Six months of consecutive customer service experience in financial services, retail sales, or a goal-oriented environment preferred. Required skills include customer service, attention to detail, general math skills, verbal communication, integrity, sales orientation, interpersonal skills, financial acumen, and thoroughness. Physical Demands Typical physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, and operating computer equipment. Tasks may also require prolonged periods of sitting and scanning documents. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Full-time employment with an expectation of 37.5 to 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible, and occasional late evenings or weekends may be required. Travel Less than 10% travel to other branches as needed. Work Clearances Criminal background investigation and credit check required. Must be bondable.
